Although we are already well into 2015, we’d like to take the time to look back at Universe Awareness’ accomplishments in the previous year. In the past few months we have gathered information from all corners of our extensive international network to find out exactly what impact the project had throughout 2014.
We asked the members of our network how many teachers and children they reached, which activities were implemented and how many schools held UNAWE events in 2014. This information helps us understand UNAWE’s reach: our successes, challenges and most importantly, our audience. We use this information to tailor our efforts to the needs of our network. With this in mind and with a bit of a delay, we are excited to finally share UNAWE's global impact numbers for 2014!
Universe Awareness Global Impact Numbers for 2014
2014 was a good year for Universe Awareness: the 2011 - 2013 EU funded EU-UNAWE programme was concluded successfully. All our targets were achieved and we received an excellent assessment from an independent evaluator appointed by the European Commission.
UNAWE also participated in a number of (international) conferences and festivals, organised a successful Kickstarter campaign, received a Creative Industries grant, welcomed two new national nodes and distributed more than 750 Universe in a Boxes around the world, among other things.
In light of these achievements we would like to thank our extensive community of dedicated and creative educators, communicators and students; and of course, all the enthusiastic children and teachers that participated in UNAWE activities in 2014!
Do you want to be (more) involved with UNAWE in 2015? There are a number of ways that you can take part: join the student ambassador programme, translate educational resources, organise events in your local area or help out at existing activities — the list goes on! Just contact us at info@unawe.org for more information and you can help us reach even more children this year!
