On 17 and 18 June 2013 the ASTRONET Workshop on Astronomy Education and Public Outreach: the European perspective workshop will take place.
The workshop is organised by ASTRONET, a consortium of the largest funding agencies for astronomy, and plays an important role in defining strategies for astronomy across the EU. The workshop will be hosted by the Haus der Astronomie (House of Astronomy) in Heidelberg, Germany. House of Astronomy is home of the German EU-UNAWE programme and the first EU-UNAWE educational playroom.
ASTRONET Working Group members, along with many international experts on astronomy education and public outreach, will utilise the workshop to evaluate the European perspective on astronomy education and public outreach, discussing which astronomy education and public outreach activities need support at the European level, and how the European Union can help to provide national resources, educational materials and share best practices. You are invited to submit your an abstract on your activities for evaluation at the workshop before 31 May 2013.
Pedro Russo, EU-UNAWE International Project Manager is one of the invited speakers and will present EU-UNAWE as a Europe-wide and global effort to bring astronomy to children and EU-UNAWE’s approach to multilingual support. You can see the full schedule here.
