Today, the IAU Office of Astronomy for Development (OAD) announced a call for proposals that is available to support projects and activities related to children and schools. Additional funding is also available for development projects that promote astronomy to the public.
The proposals will be reviewed and evaluated by the relevant OAD Task Forces (TFs): TF2 (Children and Schools) and TF3 (Astronomy for the Public). Pedro Russo, International Project Manager for EU Universe Awareness, is the Chair of TF2.
Awards will be given to the projects that are deemed to best meet the selection criteria, such as aligning with the goals of the IAU’s 10-year Strategic Plan, Astronomy for Development.
The deadline for submitting proposals is 30 September 2012. All applicants will receive feedback during December 2012 for projects to be implemented in the 2013 calendar year. For further details and information on how to apply, please click here.
