This year, GalileoMobile will initiate a new project in South America called Constellation. The project aims to create a South American network of schools committed to bringing astronomy to their students.
Children from participating schools in Argentina, Bolivia, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Ecuador and Peru will have the opportunity to participate in “Space Exploration”: a series of astronomy outreach activities to introduce them to the wonders of the universe. The children will be able to use the network of schools to share their thoughts about astronomy with peers from across South America. Their schools will also benefit from support of GalileoMobile with the organisation of astronomy-related outreach activities.
Constellation is endorsed as a Major Cosmic Light programme of the International Year of Light 2015, and is officially sponsored by the IAU Office of Astronomy for Development. For more information, follow the GalileoMobile Facebook page.
