In this new series called ‘Meet the UNAWE ambassadors!’ we introduce our ambassadors, who always work hard throughout the year to educate children about Astronomy and inspire them with our wonderful cosmos. Every month we put one of our unsung heroes in the spotlight. In this first month’s episode, we introduce Lívia Aceto from Brazil!

Most fun UNAWE experience: One of the Universe in a Box activities named “Lunar phases box model”. I made my own box with low cost materials and all the 120 kids who used it loved the experience. The most exciting part of the activity was when I revealed the interior of the box.
Reasons for joining the UNAWE Ambassador Programme: To have the experience to teach to children.
Favourite aspect of Astronomy: The perfect working of the Universe does not depend on the existence of human beings.
Plans for next UNAWE activity: To work with a Solar System model and show when the planets are visible.
Message I want to give to kids around the world: Spend all the necessary time to learn about what you like. Interest is the key for a successful learning!
