Introduction

The game of snakes & ladders is fun and easy enough for very young children to enjoy.
This traditional and much loved board game can be played by 2-6 players. In this version the board is full of astronomical pictures, and the snakes and ladders have been replaced by rockets and wormholes. Along the way, kids visit planets, galaxies, black holes and other wonders of the universe.

Cut out the markers and dice. Fold along the lines marked, and tuck in the edges. Each child rolls the set of dice. The child with the highest score starts the game. The players proceed across the board, the number of steps depending on the number they have thrown on the die.

If they hit a rocket, they are taken up further into the sky. If they hit a wormhole, then they come out somewhere else. The winner is the first child to make it to the very top.
